Newsletters with Charism Enterprises |

A newsletter is another way to communicate with people who share similar interests,
on a regular basis, and in a format they can enjoy at their leisure. A
well-written and visually attractive newsletter is one of the most cost-effective
and friendly ways of imparting the news of the day, including: Useful information and new ideas A calendar of events Personal items of interest Invitations, event plans Policy changes Classified ads Wish lists Photographs Questions and Answers Letters from group members And many other topics With the advent of computer technology, quality newsletters are no longer reserved for large corporations or national organizations with high dollar budgets. Small non-profits are no different from these larger groups in their need for effective communication but their newsletters should still be well-organized and graphically pleasing. A good publications program is one main key toward putting together a newsletter to be proud of. The most widely used of these programs are Pagemaker, Quart Xpress and Microsoft Publisher. If you plan to have a professional printer run your copies, then you certainly must use a program that he uses in his shop, and those three are among the most widely used. If you're only going to run your own copies on a copy machine, then it really doesn't matter what program you use, but you should be concerned with the quality of the copier. You have many options concerning the format you choose for your newsletter. It can be as small and inexpensive as a two-sided 8 1/2 x 11 (standard letter) size printed in black ink, or as grand as a full color, eight-page tabloid complete with a calendar, photos, special sections, and so on. The most important aspects of any choice (I know I'm repeating myself) are (1) how the publication looks graphically, (2) how well-written, literate, and informative it is, and (3) that you get the most newsletter punch for your money. Newsletters can be distributed weekly, twice a month, monthly, quarterly whatever suits your needs. They can be one or ten pages and endless color combinations suiting your taste, theme and budget. You also have paper choices, a range of print quality, and other factors that affect cost and appearance. Its your publication, and your choice regarding the content. Do you need some advise about newsletters? We'd be happy to help you any way we can. If you have someone associated with your organization who is willing and able to produce the paper, we'll answer any questions he or she has about putting together a great publication. Just email us at sanctuary@charism.biz. Don't have anyone to put out your newsletter? We can do that for you. I wish it were possible to give you this service for free, but time and other restrictions simply won't allow it. What we can do is to give you a list of basic newsletter formats and prices, and try our best not to take more than the least necessary amount of money from your organization to produce it. Coming up within the next month we'll have a price and format listing for newsletters we can produce through Charism Enterprises. If you have a proposal in the meantime, please email us at the above address. We want to help. |
